What is Spoofing?

Placing large orders with no intention of filling them, to influence what others believe. Illegal in regulated markets, common in unregulated ones. Real walls get eaten; fake ones vanish on approach.

Spoofing is placing large orders you never intend to fill, to make everyone else believe something. It is illegal in regulated markets and common in unregulated ones. The tell is what happens on approach: a real wall gets eaten and prints as trades, while a fake one vanishes a moment before price arrives, because it was only ever there to be seen.

Watch it happen

Every idea on this page is something you can see on a live tape rather than take on faith. The board draws real executed trades as an army: buyers advance from the left, sellers from the right, and the glowing line between them is the price. Here is how to read it.
